North Ridge Country Club established the Annual Art Gala Juried Competition and Sale in 2009. A small group of members put ideas into action and created the North Ridge Country Club Art Society. The group went to work putting together a juried event to showcase outstanding regional artists, provide an enjoyable social event for members, and ultimately collect fine artwork for the North Ridge clubhouse. Their mission was to keep the event affordable for artists to enter and for members to attend, and to support the arts community by providing exposure and potential sales for the artists juried into the show.
A Call for Entries is emailed to artists and art associations each October with a mid-January entry deadline. A juror from the area arts community selects the best 25 pieces from the digital submissions. Those 25 artists are invited to display their work in booths throughout the North Ridge Country Club ballroom at the Art Gala, which is the last Saturday in February each year. At the Art Gala, members and guests enjoy an evening social of art appreciation and also have the opportunity to purchase or commission fine art directly from the juried artists. The juror selects placements and a Best in Show winner, which NRCC purchases for the clubhouse. Guests also vote on a People’s Choice Award.
